“Once Upon a Stitch” celebrates the dreamers — the youth, teens, and adults who dare to create, design, and walk boldly in their own story. From aspiring designers to future entrepreneurs, this runway is a reminder that creativity is a real trade skill and imagination builds futures.

We will select 8 guests from the audience to take the RUNWAY and become part of the story.

Because of your support at our Spring show, we provided free sewing and entrepreneurship programming to 74 youth across the Twin Cities this year.

Our next goal?
To serve 250 more youth and families by Spring 2026.

For 17 years, Lovely’s Sewing & Arts Collective has been teaching youth, teens, and adults how to sew — not as a hobby, but as a valuable trade skill rooted in creativity, entrepreneurship, and confidence.

“Once Upon a Stitch” is more than a fashion show. It is a celebration of over 1,000 lives impacted through hands-on sewing education in Minneapolis.

Every dollar raised helps us:

• Provide scholarships for youth from low-to-moderate income families
• Offer sewing classes that normally cost $320 per participant
• Pay livable wages to instructors
• Supply fabric, tools, and machines
• Sustain our creative teaching space

Our goal is to raise $50,000, which will allow us to expand access to sewing education for over 150+ participants in 2026.
